Justin is the assistant instructor to Sifu Stephen Sie and Sihing Stefan
Kucharik at the Third Space gym, Piccadilly Circus in London's West End.
I started on my path to becoming a martial artist at the age of 8, practicing Judo and Fencing for a number of years as a child. Since then I have experimented with both Karate and Aikido. In the spring of 2005 I was introduced to Wing Chun by a Chinese friend and was fortunate to find a school with many friendly, dedicated and highly skilled instructors.
I have since studied and trained intensively in the art of Wing Chun Kung Fu under my Sifu, Sigung, Sihing and with other Kung Fu brothers from various branches of The Wing Chun School and other schools.
I have had the pleasure to travel with our school to Hong Kong and Fatsan, China, in 2006 and to Norway in summer 2007. I look forward to the Hong Kong trip 2008!
I am also a keen practitioner of both traditional Hatha Yoga and Acrobatic Yoga and will qualify as a teacher of both this year. I am also training in Swedish and Thai massage. In all these disciplines I find a core in common with Wing Chun, namely the pursuit of an instinctive understanding of energy and form in oneself and others.
To me Wing Chun is an incredibly intricate and subtly beautiful yet unsubtly practical martial art based on simple principles of logic and physics, and born of and routed within a rich culture and philosophy.
Studying Wing Chun for me is a fascinating and rewarding journey both physically, socially and philosophically, and I am privileged to be a small part of the continuation of this art.
